Access to Kyoto Station

Kansai International Airport (KIX) (Recommended)

Kansai International Airport (KIX) provides the easiest access for delegates to reach the venue. It is 75 minutes by Airport Express or 95 minutes by Limousine Bus to Kyoto station.
  1. By Train (75 miniutes to Kyoto Station by JR Airport Express "Haruka")
  2. JR (Japan Railway) Airport Express Train "Haruka" directly connects you to JR Kyoto station. The train is available almost every 30 minutes from 6:31am to 10:16pm. Fare: 3,430 yen for reserved seats, 2,900 yen for non-reserved seats. If you have Japan Rail Pass* you can take all JR Group Railways including "Haruka"

  3. By Bus (95 miniutes to Kyoto Station by Limousine Bus)
  4. Airport limousine buses to Kyoto station depart every hour. Fare: 2,600 yen

  5. By Taxi (Shared Ride, takes less than 3 hours to Kyoto Station depends on the traffic conditions by Shuttle Taxi)
  6. Airport Shuttle Taxi provides transfers to any place in Kyoto. Fare: 3,800 yen for MK Taxi which provide shared ride airport shuttle taxi. Booking is required.

Osaka Itami Airport (ITM)

Flights from airports in the Tokyo area, including Narita and Haneda, arrive at ITM about once an hour. From ITM, It is 1hour by Limousine Bus or 1 hour 30 miniutes by Taxi to Kyoto station.
  1. By Bus (60 miniutes to Kyoto Station by Limousine Bus)
  2. Airport limousine buses to Kyoto station depart every hour. Fare: 1,340 yen

  3. By Taxi (Shared Ride, takes less than 1 hour 30 minutes to Kyoto Station depends on the traffic conditions by Shuttle Taxi)
  4. Airport Shuttle Taxi provides transfers to any place in Kyoto. Fare: 3,800 yen for MK Taxi which provide shared ride airport shuttle taxi. Booking is required.

Narita International Airport (NRT)

Participants have the following options for their transfers from/to the Narita International Airport (NRT).
  1. By Train (from NRT to Kyoto station via Tokyo station, total travel time is 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours)
  2. Take the Narita Express (JR Line) to Tokyo station (60 minutes) and transfer to the Tokaido Shinkansen (bullet train, JR Line) to Kyoto station (2hours and 20 minutes). The total train fare from Narita to JR Kyoto station: 17,242 yen. There are two types of express train from Tokyo station to Kyoto Station:
    • NOZOMI superexpress (140 minutes to Kyoto, every 10 minutes)
    • HIKARI superexpress (170 minutes to Kyoto, every 30 minutes)
    Please note that Japan Rail Pass is NOT valid for NOZOMI Super Express. If you want to use Japan Rail Pass, you can only take HIKARI Super Express.

  3. By Air
  4. There is a limited number of domestic flights between Osaka Itami Airport and Narita Airport (Flight time: 65 minutes, 12,810 yen). From Osaka Itami Airport take an airport limousine bus to JR Kyoto station (55 minutes, 1,340 yen).

Haneda Tokyo International Airport (HND)

Tokyo's Haneda International Airport serves destinations in North America, Europe and Asia. You have following two options to come to Kyoto from HND.
  1. By Trains
  2. Take the Keikyu Airport Express train to Shinagawa station and transfer to the Tokaido Shinkansen (bullet train, JR Line) to Kyoto station. Traveling time is a little more than 2 hours.

  3. By Air
  4. Alternatively transit flights from Haneda to Osaka Itami Airport (ITM) are frequent (Flight time: 65 minutes, 15,440yen).

Central Japan International Airport (Centrair) (NGO)

Centrair is an international airport. You may find direct international flights to NGO from EU, USA and other Asian countries. From NGO, go to Nagoya station and transfer to Shinkansen to Kyoto station.
  1. By Trains (from NGO to Kyoto station via Nagoya station, total travel time is 2 hours)
  2. Take the airport limited express "μ-SKY" or limited express, or express to Meitetsu-Nagoya station (30 minutes, 1,250yen). Then, take Shinkansen from JR Nagoya to Kyoto Station (34 miniutes, approx. 5,910 yen)

Access to The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike from Kyoto Station

Main transportations available within Kyoto are the Subway lines, Buses, and Taxis. The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike is adjacent to International Conference Center. Guests can reach easily by following road signs of Kyoto International Conference Centre.

Kyoto station →The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike (venue), 20 minutes by subway, 290 yen

Take Subway "Karasuma Line" from Kyoto Station and get down at the 10th stop, Kokusaikaikan Station, 7 minutes walk from there. (3 minutes walk from Gate 4-2)

  • Passes can be used for unlimited trips for 1 day (One Day Pass Adult of 1100 yen and an infant of 550 yen.) on Kyoto City Bus routes, Kyoto Municipal Subway lines, Kyoto Bus routes (some routes excluded), Keihan Bus routes (some routes excluded),and West Japan JR Bus routes (some routes excluded).   • Japan Rail Pass

    JAPAN RAIL PASS, a joint offering of the six companies comprising the Japan Railways Group (JR Group), is the economical and convenient means of traveling throughout Japan by rail. There are two types of PASSes: PASS for Green Cars and PASS for Standard Cars. Each type can be purchased for 7 days, 14 days or 21 days. There are certain conditions for use. For example, "NOZOMI" and "MIZUHO" trains on the Tokaido, Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen Lines cannot be used. If you have a plan to visit Tokyo, Kyushu or any other places while you are staying in Japan, JRP will be convenient and economic. It is also useful if you are arriving at Narita International Airport.

    There are two ways to purchase JRP:

    • Purchase a JAPAN RAIL PASS online or at a ticket office in Japan
    • Purchase an Exchange Order at an overseas JR-designated sales office or agency

    You will receive an " Exchange Order" and change it to the JRP upon at JR Travel Service Center arriving in Japan. For more information, Please see JR group web site. (See JAPAN RAIL PASS)
